This is what video production costs in Portugal, and what makes the price go up or down.

Our videos start at €700. For a commercial, the price then depends on the shoot days, the locations, the cast and the post-production. You receive a fixed quote before you decide, and it does not change halfway.

It can be, but we will not give you a percentage, because it depends on the project and on the quote you are comparing with. The fair way to find out is to send us the same brief you sent at home and compare the two proposals line by line.

What you can count on is practical: a team that films here and works in English, locations that are close to each other and invoicing in euros under EU rules.

We quote per project rather than per day, because the edit, the colour and the delivery are part of what you pay for. If you need a crew for a day on your own production, tell us the setup and we quote that day.

When you compare day rates from different suppliers, check what each one includes. Lighting, extra cameras, drones, vehicles and travel are often quoted apart.

It depends on the days at the hotel, the aerial shots, the people in the film and how many versions you need for the booking platforms and social media. At Hotel Casa Palmela, the film and the photographs came from one day of production.

The shoot days, the number of locations, the people on camera, drones and special equipment, and the post-production, such as colour, motion graphics and language versions, are what move the price.

These push it up:

• Several shoot days and several locations in one project.
• Actors, or many people from your team on camera.
• Drones, underwater or macro work and other special equipment.
• Heavy post-production: motion graphics, effects and several language versions.
• A rushed calendar.
• Travel to the islands or to several regions.

These bring it down:

• One location and one shoot day.
• Deliverables agreed before the shoot.
• A normal calendar.
• Recurring content agreed as a monthly job, instead of one piece at a time.
• Fewer versions to edit.

Portuguese VAT is 23%. Business clients elsewhere in the EU are usually invoiced under the intra-EU reverse charge, checked through VIES, and for clients outside the EU, such as the UK or the US, it depends on the rules of their own country.

The usage rights of the film are written into the proposal, next to the price, before you sign.

We start with a conversation about what the video has to achieve and where it will be seen. The proposal then lists what you receive, the calendar and the price. Most projects take 2 to 4 weeks from the brief to delivery, with 1 or 2 days of filming.

Each version then arrives in the Beyond Portal, where you comment on the exact second and approve with one click, with two to three rounds of revision included.
